Caprice – The Beauty You Are

I often think about how skin of a different hues are depicted in media. Do we even notice and how do people feel about it? This portrait series explores some of those curiosities through the reflections women of color shared. This series is a piece of the capstone project of my undergraduate studies in digital communications at the University of Baltimore.

My very earliest memory of being a woman of color was when I was in the 2nd grade. I went to a school in a predominantly white neighborhood. I was the only black child in the 2nd grade class.
